I attended the Florida School of Massage in 1993 right out of college. I had a long athletic history, and some serious car accidents in my past, and my body responded well to the attention. Chronic tension patterns and pain that I carried from many years of playing sports and surviving a head-on collision started to dissipate. They improved even more after meeting my husband and receiving his holistic chiropractic treatments on a regular basis. Now, 20 years later, I know how powerful massage and chiropractic can be for restoring and optimizing health, and improving our lives.
When the Florida School of Massage was looking for a new instructor in their Sports Massage Program in 1994, I was asked to join their team. My years of playing competitive basketball and various recreational sports, exploring yoga, and cycling across the USA prepared me well to understand the concepts around how to work with athletes. And benefitting greatly from the bodywork, communicating the benefits of the work came easily. Over the years, my teaching style evolved and improved, and my teaching roles expanded. I am now the lead instructor in the Sports Massage modality, an assistant in Connective Tissue Therapy modality, and part of the Teaching Assistant Program Committee.
Since 1994 I have worked primarily in chiropractic offices, seeing both chiropractic patients and private clients. I work with injuries, but also love helping people explore their aches, pains and concerns, and find ways to improve their well-being. Massage has been such an important part of my life since my early 20’s, and my work reflects my appreciation for the many different styles. I blend Sports and Orthopedic Massage, with Connective Tissue Therapy and Biodynamic Cranial Touch to design a session based on your unique needs. Being greatly influenced by my husband’s gentle approach to chiropractic, my work is specific and deep, yet gentle. I work WITH your body to create change, rather than pushing my way through to achieve an ideal result.
Massage has been my only profession and it is my passion. There is so much to learn and practice in this field that I don't ever want to quit helping people find more ease and comfort in their bodies. My hope is that everyone I work with will discover that “life is better with massage!”
